Daily headaches

Has anyone with kidney problems experienced daily headaches?

I’ve had daily headaches for 6 months which have recently gotten worse and are pretty much constant now apart from an hour when I first wake up. I’m wondering if they may be related to my kidney function.

As a child I saw a kidney specialist until the age of 16 and was told I have “kidney scarring”due to reflux.

My latest GFR is 65 (it’s very slowly getting lower with each test).

I’d welcome hearing from anyone who has also suffered from headaches related to kidney function.

Hi PotentialTerrace,
Whilst headaches are one of the side effects of kidney failure, I would not expect you to be having problems at your eGFR.

I would suggest you tell your GP about the headaches, they may be an indication of a different problem.
