Post by jooles »

Hi chaps
Just got The Call! Am sitting waiting for ECG and bloods been sent off to Tooting. Will know if transplant is feasible in around eight hours time. Too scared to hope!

That's marvellous news Jools, I do so hope that it is feasible and that you will have a new kidney for the coming year, will be thinking of you and include you in my prayers...................

Thanks! Well, still waiting- but what's a few hours compared to the years that many wait for this day? Got permanent marker arrows down right hand side of torso which I'm seeing as a good sign! Had the 'Risks' talk from surgeon - scary stuff. Think I must have sounded like a real lightweight to all you transplant pros during my catheter-fitting stage! Think it may be time to really see what I am made of! Daren't let myself think in any kind of serious way at all yet but am very frightened about being wheeled down to theatre. Biggest worry is more poor husband sitting waiting.. Still - may be jumping the gun here!
