My GP has suggested I have the flu jab - good idea? Bad idea?

Check with your renal team though. I run everything past them if it's suggested by my GP etc.

They should give you a yes though, mine did.

A good idea. It is quick and painless and is advised.

Good idea for anyone with chronic renal failure.

Thanks for reminding me to make an appointment with my GP!

See here:

I can only repeat what i said there.

When people get a cold they call it flu, when they have flu they feel like they are dying.

Having not been vaccinated for a few years in the 1980's and had real flu a couple of times, i now get vaccinated absolutely without fail every year.

I had flu a few Xmas' back - it was pretty dark - even my own skin hated me!

I have a transplant and I have gotten the flu vaccine every year!

Just had the flu vaccine...buuut, I read the info to patient brochure(after) and find the vaccine reacts to Prograf and Cellcept

I certainly had some reactions for 5 days..headaches, shaking /chills, depressed mood...
Then it says, to ask the doctor , if you should take the flu vaccine next time ?!

BTW, flu vaccine is given at a pharmacy by a pharmacist in my area(USA( $32))!

I'm spoilt for choice - been offered a free one from work (I'm considered an 'at risk' employee) or my GP.
