Re: Neckline inserted yesterday, got a few questions

Ouch, that brought back memories! I don't remember how long it took to recover, probably a week or two but, as I was able to drive 2 days later so, maybe it wasn't so bad. Indeed the stitches are under the dressing, four maybe five. I had mine in for about 2 weeks but I think they could have taken t...

Re: From APD to Heamo to TX to Ironman triathlete

Bravo!

When you said tx was in May - I thought surely not less than 3 months ago!!! Then I read the rest - congratulations on such an achievement. It's not an easy thing to do for someone with no health issues, with a tx is even more impressive!

Re: The Team Tibbs Results are in...

Ah, I don't remember any camera but do remember the water that was pumped in (?) so when I got up from the table all that water came out as if I'd p*** myself, had to walk back to Peter's like that (so embarrassing, sorry, for the graphic description). I had the same surgeon insert and take the tesi...

Re: The Team Tibbs Results are in...

Hi Tibbs, Stent out finally! It is always more uncomfortable for men to have it removed but, after so long, it's not really surprising it was painful. Any foreign object that stays in the body for a longer time period will start to be "absorbed" as part of the body as the surrounding tissu...

Re: WLRTC 'Expo 2013' 23rd Sept

I'm not really part of the KPA either sand I didn't know about this. I'm in the clinic tomorrow, might be more info around there because there is none on the website.
I'm away most of september, not sure if I'll be in London but if I am I might swing by.

Well, yum! Must try that soup. I'm roasting lamb on a bed of garlic (oh yes, 2 heads chopped - keeps the vampires away) with chorizo, spuds and carrots...

Re: The Team Tibbs Results are in...

Darn, it was such a loaded day, no wonder you are emotional. Take it easy, enjoy your dinner, sometimes it's all the remedy you need, something funny on the telly, or whatever your poison is.

Re: The Team Tibbs Results are in...

@ Sanela - they are not great about telling patients about the skin follow up although it is supposed to be 'standard' - I was already under a dermatologist (originally CX then moved) so have stayed with him and I am VERY careful but still had a Grade 0 melanoma removed from my arm over a year ago....

Re: The Team Tibbs Results are in...

I'm also booked in for a checkup after a year, at which point she'll also do the skin cancer check. She said they normally only start those after 5 years, but I'm already in the system, so it makes sense to start it now. Still, all's confirmed for tomorrow's stent removal and MRI. Just need to make...

Re: The Team Tibbs Results are in...

Shame about the creatinine rise, but it does sound like it's slight dehydration. In this weather it's not that unusual, been there myself, got the dreaded Friday morning call. Glad the stent is finally coming out. Encouraging words from Dr Cairns, fingers crossed you get to hear from the Royal M soo...

In this heat leave it in the fridge to rise for a long time, or overnight when it's cooler, mine was bubbling very quickly too. You'll perfect it in no time :)

My first starter (pure rye maria) is 15 months old still going good but i keep it dormant in my fridge, my second (white flower conchita) is 12 months old also kept in the fridge. I sometimes mix them, but also mix my flours. You can gather i experiment a lot…it took me about 7-8 months until i foun...

Re: The Team Tibbs Results are in...

cazpi, now you get me going with the sourdough. I rarely make any other bread these days and I've never made a focaccia (and I will tomorrow! its time). There are a couple of reasons why it is dense, you might not be giving it enough time to rise or to prove, or your dough might be too dry, or you d...
