whats the real deal with transplants?

My immediate reaction when I found out that my kidneys had packed in was that I wanted to get a transplant and get back to normal asap. I was under the impression that having a kidney transplant was infinitely preferable to having dialysis... but is it really? I wanted to get on "the list"...

william... I too was dead excited when I found out I'd be taking EPO due to its 'other' use in competitive sport :wink:
