Re: no friends
Have you tried your local Kidney Patient Association. Personally mine is useless but you may be luckier in your area

Re: Sunday Delivery!!
It's the same old story.you can't please all of the people all of the time. Unfortunately, in business, Sunday is becoming just another working day and whereas this is more convenient for some people it is inconvenient for others. Companies purport to be giving their customers more choice but in rea...

I agree with Amanda. They won't worry about you when you and your new kidney are in a grave. Your health MUST come first. Best of luck but you don't need my good wishes because you are already lucky enough to have the gift of a new kidney when many others, including me, wait in hope. So don't waste ...

Re: Nephrectomy
I have had both my kidneys removed because they were huge and would not have left room for a transplant. They had failed anyway so I was carrying them around for nothing. Feel much better now and I have got my waist back which can't be bad☺

Re: 3D printing of living tissue/organs
I saw on TV a while ago an interview with a surgeon and a father, explaining how they had made a 3D copy of his kidney to see if it could be transplanted into his tiny baby. The copy of his kidney was soft and they placed it into a 3D copy of her diaphragm which was hard alongside copies of her live...

I think it depends on how you are feeling. I know I felt like death warmed up until I went on dialysis

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY
Hi all. Wishing everyone a happy Christmas and a peaceful and healthy ( as possible ) New Year. Personally, I am facing my first Christmas having to say no to Xmas pudding, Chris cake and mince pies and no to more than one drink at parties :( On the bright side, I should come out the other side of C...

At my unit they put you straight off on to the machine. You are not taught the manual way on the basis that they say if the machine goes wrong, Baxterley will replace it the next day. Do not know if it works in practice.

Re: fistular fitting upper arm
I have a fistula in the lower arm but I can't think there will be much different. I can't say that it was painful and if it did get painful at any stage they just topped up the local anesthetic. A nurse kept me distracted by chatting on one side of me while the surgeon worked away on the other side....

My dialysis nurse is of the opinion that the flight he had just completed could have played a part in his death. Whatever the cause it's a shock to followers of kidney journey like me

Hi Jan
I am getting rather concerned about the silence coming from you. I know I do not communicate direct with you nowadays but I still keep an eye on your progress
I hope everything is OK and you are not posting because you are too busy having fun .
