Hi Keith,

I also thought protein was a bad sign for a tx patient - but it doesn't mean your kidney would be affected immediately. I'd personally get it checked out asap by the transplant team.

Hello, Does anyone happen to have any spare tickets to get rid of for Laughter For Life on Sunday? I bought 5 tickets for me and some friends, but my credit card company has done me over by declining the transaction (for no actual reason) and not telling me. If anyone has any, please let me know, Ch...

Hi Claire, I am sorry to hear about what you and your husband are going through. I am not a PKD patient and do not wish to sound harsh, however when you say your husband does not want to take a tablet every day for the rest of his life - I would advise you that if dialysis comes or gets close, then ...

Jen, I think your probably getting enough advice by now, but if I just point out, when I got my job (for a picky and "prestigious" large company), I used the example of my dissertation (which was an information system for kidney patients - along the lines of RenalPatientView) to show I had...

Hi Jen, Good luck with the interview. I went to quite a few interviews with some big companies when I moved to London (didn't get the first one ) For all of them on the application form I told them I was on dialysis and I think also on the transplant list. I think on all of the forms there was...

Hi Jim, I did look into this a few years ago and I was told by my unit that I couldn't go, because dialysis units in the US do not seperate their HIV and Hepatitis patients. I didn't end up following this up, because soon after I went on PD. Maybe someone in the US can advise if this is true (in all...

Hi Jamie,

This depends what kind of patient you are? ... and of course your usual situation

I'm assuming your a haemo patient. If so, the fluid allowance is usually 500 mls per day plus your urine output.

... but obviously check with your unit / doctors, some are different.

Regards,

Hal
