I put a 3 months prescription in last week, got the tacro after a couple of days.

Cellcept / MMF meanwhile is still on order and the chemist is having trouble getting hold of!

Football Post Transplant!

Hi, I really would like to play football (soccer for our American friends) again after my transplant... however, I understand that this is not recommended. Has anyone ever seen / heard of some sort of protector that would look after the kidney whilst playing football? I know Jona Lomu continued to p...

Haha Rik, no haven't changed brands.

I am thinking (and hoping) it is an allergy of some sort... especially as I'm getting the train in the morning for Liverpool vs Barca tomorrow night!

Brilliant nite! Great comedy (favourite was Glenn Wool - strange, clever and controversial). Great entertainment before / between acts and intervals by our very own Big Buzzard complete with the Big Buzzard Boogie Band  I'll plug them for Andy - check them out at: http://www.myspace.com/b...

Thanks guys,

This is what was told to me at my last hospital and is also mentioned when you look on the drug information on the web.

Seems like its OK (maybe only a problem in bigger doses).

Atenolol - Beta blocker

Hi again, I've been taking recently (for at least the last couple of months) 50mg of Atenolol at night. When I went to clinic on Thursday, my consultant stopped it (BP too low). It only dawned on me this weekend that I'd previously you can't just suddenly stop Atenolol as it is a beta-blocker. Has a...

Swollen Eyelids

Hi all, This morning I've woken up with quite swollen eyelids. Wondered if this could be anything to do with the transplant (3 months ago) or meds I'm on (tacro + MMF)? Pretty sure I'm not losing protein (well I wasn't on Thursday). My eyes have been quite dry the last few days, don't think its an i...

Hello, I asked my consultant - he said it wasn't expected with tacrolimus (which seems strange as lots of other had it) - he even sent me for a chest x ray to ensure I didn't have TB lol I also have had the burning sensation in my feet and face - I had it terribly the other week when my level was th...

I get it too... and I am not far post transplant (3 months). I am actually going to clinic tomorrow and was going to ask about it... as they have returned with a vengeance the last couple of nights. I suspect it may be when my tacrolimus level is a bit higher - I think it may have gone too high agai...
