Re: Transplant chat clinic
Hi Ruth Just a guess, but could it be an 'education' session? My reason for thinking it could be this is that I have recently attended a pre transplant education session at Guys hospital in London. Re: Ethical dilemma
Hi Yaniv I am not in any way medically trained and am only offering an opinion based on information I have gathered whilst my husband and I go through the work up with a view to him being hopefully able to donate a kidney to me. Firstly, from what I understand, there are VERY strict rules with regar...

Re: Hi Update from jbell
Glad you are back on the list Jan - you really are having a rough time dialysis wise you poor thing. I really hope that something comes up soon for you. I had to attend a transplant education session the other day and heard there that the double (kidney/pancreas) transplant wait is normally quite a ...

Re: Road to transplant......we hope....
Results in from the crossmatch and thankfully it's negative, which I am told is what we want. :D Things are going to slow down a little again now, as my husband has been told they'd like him to lose about 6kg (approx. 12lbs) and they won't do anything further until he has achieved this......I warned...

Re: How I cured my glomerulonephritis
Well said Rik. I wanted to say something on this last night but couldn't think how to say it without inflaming things further. I do want to say however that I believe we should all be entitled to put forward our thoughts and ideas etc without fear of being shot down in flames. At the end of the day,...

Re: Road to transplant......we hope....
Well, that sounds hopeful for me then Thumps. If yours wasn't considered very good and everything is still going strong for you, that must mean there's hope for me! I read on another thread that you have just had your best eGFR results for 4 years. Great news! :) Next stage for us is the crossmatch,...
