Re: I've got so many questions...??

Hi Alex, My kidney disease also came out of the blue just over a year ago. My kidney function was at 22% and falling rapidly. Within 11 months I was doing PD dialysis at home. Initially I too was 'grossed out' by the thought of PD,but I was surprised at how quickly I adapted! Sadly, after 3 ops my c...

Re: Hi Update from jbell

Y at so glad you're feeling so much better and have more energy.

My BP was also going over 200 when on dialysis but I now take my tablets an hour before and it's been much better...still high on waking but that's another story.

Re: PKD Nephrectomy Recovery.

Hi Grey, Well I'm glad the op went well and that you are now on the road to recovery. Your neck line is in a different place to mine..but hey, as long as it does the job it's supposed too. You've had a big op and are allowed to feel "down" so don't beat yourself up. I'm sure you will feel ...

Re: Advice about work

Hi, Congratulations on getting the job and having a supportive boss. I had 6 months off of work and couldn't wait to get back, not only because I needed the money but I was bored and feeling useless being at home. During my interview I did tell them about my kidney disease and what support I needed,...

Re: Hi Update from jbell

Oh Jan, I'm so sorry to hear that things just aren't going right for you but I'm really glad they managed to save your arm and hope that you are truly on the road to recovery. I'm sure once the hemo settles down and the EPO does it's jib you're going to feel so much better. I don't envy you the earl...

Thanks for the laughs...but you haven't met my dogs, they're as bad as the buys for making a racket.

And as for lining back...well let's not go there.

Re: Coping with fluid restriction...help needed

Hi all, I saw my consultant on Friday, although I am almost at my dry weight, my blood pressure is still through the roof (235/117). He thinks there may still be fluid to come off. He upped the machine to a whopping 3.5 litres and warned me that I would feel "washed out"yesterday, but he s...

Re: Hi Update from jbell

Hi all, How is everyone? I'm still loving my new job, it's not overly challenging but I love being back with people and having a purpose. I am NOT enjoying the early morning but then again I never have. Being at Swindon is much easier, I have time to get home from work and heat up a proper dinner to...

Re: Coping with fluid restriction...help needed

Hi Wagonlyn, I think the reason for the fluid restriction was because I was without dialysis for almost two weeks and my BP was through the roof. They take off between 2 and 2 1/2 litres each visit and I feel fine. I get occasional cramp but nothing else. I'm almost at my dry weight now but my BP is...

We'll I still haven't been able to get an increase but I have stop being so strict and not panicking if I go slightly over. I still have a small amount of fluid to lose but am then hoping for a increase. Fingers crossed xx

Re: Hi Update from jbell

Hi Jan and all, I think your very brave letting Mr B do you're nails...theres no way I'd let my hubby do mine, I dread to think how they would look. I wonder if there is something in the air, as I've also been removed from the transplant list but mine is because my hemoglobin is too low. I am almost...

Re: I hate Dialysis

I love this post. Chris you sum it up perfectly. For me PD didn't work so I'm now doing the 3 times a week, 60 + mile round trip to the hospital for 4 + hours of hemo which I absolutely lothe. BUT it is keeping me alive so I have no choice. I just take my pleasures where I can, ie no more EPO in the...
