Amazingly still pregnant!

Hi, an update: last time I posted on here I'd been told to expect to miscarry within days - a big thanks to everyone who left or PM'd supportive messages. Well I didn't bleed, just kept feeling sicker and sicker. Finally had another scan and saw a tiny baby complete with heartbeat. There's a very lo...

Bad news

Well I got definite news sooner than I expected and it's bad. Got scanned today and they could see enough to be fairly certain that I'm miscarrying. At least it's much earlier than last time, no operation or intervention needed. They expect nature to take its course shortly. Thanks for your support ...

Hi ladies Well the good (and surprising) news is that I'm pregnant again already. The bad news is that it hasn't been straightforward. Had minor bleeds on the day my period was due (so thought I wasn't!) and two times since. But every time it stopped quickly and I'm still feeling pregnant (i.e. sick...

Hi Nicola Many thanks for your encouraging words. You've obviously had a really difficult time of it - must have been so frustrating to have to stop trying because of Tx issues. It's exactly what I dread. Really hope it happens for you soon. Best of luck with reflexology etc. I also don't tell many ...

Vicki, I really hope you conceive again soon and it all goes well. Were your undiagnosed kidney probs the cause of the miscarriage, or it just got spotted then? Must have been a dreadful time. Thanks for your encouraging words Andy. As you say there's no reason to think the mc was anything to do wit...

Trying to conceive

Hi Anyone out there trying to conceive after a transplant? Would love to chat. I'm feeling a bit alone with it - I post on babycentre.co.uk and the ladies on there are great, really supportive. But of course none of them understand the particular issues around transplants etc. I'm 38, had my tx sinc...

The big, smelly anti-rejection Cyclosporine used to make me vomit when I was in hospital - but, I'm used to that too now and while I still don't like the smell, it doesn't make me sick anymore. I discovered that taking those big smelly things out of their foil - even for a few hours - and the smell...

Hi Mal

Like Mandy V I had an intense feeling of well-being and energy as soon as I woke up from the transplant. Someone told me he woke up feeling like he could run for miles - once I'd had mine I knew what he meant.

Best wishes
Amanda

Wow

What fantastic replies - loads of information, encouragement and interesting stories. Many thanks to you all. javascript:emoticon(':D') Amanda (in CA), one reason I'm thinking about all this now is that I've finally had the results of genetic testing and the upshot is I probably wouldn't pass my Alp...

Long-term transplants

Are any of the people with or who have had long-term transplants interested in starting a discussion? I read on here about the wonderful-sounding Quarter Century Club, but as a 'youngster' a mere 20.5 years post-transplant, I don't yet qualify. I'd really like to hear: Why do you think your transpla...

Case studies - Employability campaign

Hi I'm working on a project for the Department for Work and Pensions that aims to challenge employers' attitudes to people with disabilities and long-term health conditions. The website is http://www.dwp.gov.uk/employability My role is to find people who'd be happy to be interviewed and photographed...
