I had a nephrectomy on the other side, (see posts passim) and there was no effect on my graft kidney. In factv my creatinine went down, but that was probably because I did nothing but drink water while I was in!

Why the max flight time? I flew to Thailand (12ish hours I think) at 15%. I got proper compression socks (i.e. the ones you get fitted for in surgical appliances) and no sign of puffiness at all! I got the same thing when I had my kidney removed laproscopically. She said that she might have to open me up idf necessary. I've had flu jabs for ages, both pre and post transplant. Sometimes I get a sniffle afterwards, but this year everything was fine. Injection point was sore for a day or so.

I have had one of my boxes get wet and the Tacro tablets (I guess they're actually capsules as they contain powder) were just dissolving. I gained (and lost) a load of weight post transplant. I use whey proteins, but carefully as too much protein is bad for your kidneys. Also be very careful of supplements.
