Re: PatientView 2 goes live today!

Ditto Thumps' comment - I really like the new format, so well done to the team. However, I too am at Guys and my January blood test results are still missing! They appeared on the old RPV, the day after the blood test as normal, but then after the switch over to the new site they disappeared and now...

Re: Back to dialysis...

Hi Holz Sorry to read about your transplant failing. My uncle's transplanted kidney (about 15 years old) has been threatening to give up for over 3 years now, so you never know, you may just last long enough to get a chance at a second transplant before yours gives up altogether. There's always hope...

Re: PD with Crohns/Ulcerative Colitis

Thanks guys. :)

Some good news received yesterday - the transplant surgeon said that he is happy for my husband to proceed with a work up, despite the cancer 10 years ago. So, first hurdle cleared..........only about another 99 to go! :)

PD with Crohns/Ulcerative Colitis

Hi all Looking for a bit of input here. My GFR is now 17 and thus they have started to look at the work up on my husband, who is hoping to donate a kidney to me. The problem however is that he had testicular cancer almost 10 years ago. At the end of this year, his oncologist intends to sign him off ...

Re: Hello Everyone

Hi Jimmy As others have said, don't focus on the statistics. Averages are just that, averages. If you think about it, the figures are based on hundreds of thousands of people who have lived on dialysis and out of those an enormous amount of people will have survived years and years more than 3.9. My...

Re: Echocardiogram

I know what you mean - the ordinary echo was pretty undignified - "just roll onto your side Mrs M."........it wasn't pretty, let me tell you! I am certain however I had a gown on for the treadmill echo - I couldn't swear to having my bra on (as I say, it was a while ago) but I'm fair...

Re: Can it get any worse

Hi Sporti - oh, I was just wondering/hoping that with it being treated more like a chronic illness they may have put you back on the list, but obviously not. Good luck with your appointment in NY, as and when it comes through. Let us know how you get on. :)

Re: Echocardiogram

Hi AmandaClare - yes, I have. I have no idea whether they are all done this way or not, but for me it was a case of attaching some monitors to me and then putting me on a treadmill! I didn't have to run a marathon or anything, just had to walk slowly and then increase my speed to a fast walk. I can'...

Hi Sporti

As Tibbs says, good news (I think :? ). So, how does that leave you with respect to 'the list'?

Re: Approaching stage 5

Hi Henriettab I am sorry to say that I don't think anyone will be able to give a definitive answer to your question. There are SO many variables in CKD. For those that progress to kidney failure, everyone's journey will be completely different - it is very individual. I have a particular well known ...
