Re: My Covid experience…so far
The doctors I spoke to were confident that there's no impact on kidney function identified thus far. My blood pressure was pretty high before they discharged me but it has settled back down a couple of days later. My check up isn't for another few weeks, do keep us posted!

Re: My Covid experience…so far
Hope you're feeling better now! Similar experience I guess... husband tested positive last Wednesday. We isolated in different bedrooms etc, but I woke up with a very very sore throat and then tested positive Sunday morning. Registered a very faint LFT and sent off the emergency PCR, which came back...

Re: How “back to normal” are you?
I'd say my social life is at about 10-15% of my pre-pandemic level. I mostly still socialise outside, and mask on public transport, in shops or in crowded/compact places. Still haven't been clubbing or into a pub, but I HAVE been to a couple of restaurants, and to a medium sized gig. I eschewed a Br...

Re: Vaccines for Covid 19
Yes, agree about the Kidney Care website, they're doing an awesome job! Re: how my experience was - I went to my renal unit for a blood test then on the way out stopped by the walk-in vaccination centre. I had already had a text from the hospital inviting me for the extra jab which came about three ...

Re: Hair loss after transplant
I had a lot of hair loss for the first year or so because of the high drug dosages. Once we tapered down it stopped happening and I've mostly got all my hair back now.

Re: Azathioprine or Mycophenolic acid?
I take Tacrolimus AND Mycophenolate Mofetil as my primary drug regime. I switched to MMF from cyclosporin because the latter was giving me very bad stomach issues and weird extra hair growth. I've not had any significant new side effects from MMF and I've been taking it for about 12 years now. Best ...

Re: interesting Polycystic Kidney Disease research
Wow, that does sound promising! I remember reading a research paper some years ago about how even calling the disease PKD seems a bit of a misnomer given that it is so frequently accompanied my Polycystic Liver, diverticulitis and aneurysm, which made the folks feel like it was more of a collagen di...
