DIY SOS
I watched this programme which was very interesting about a mum with CKD who was having her home ready for HD. So happy for her as they did a great job on her house. She has very young children so that's even harder. However it left me a bit sad when builders were crying at the size if the machine a...

Fistula needling and nerve pain
Hi My fistula has been used for a month now and not mature. At first, my line and fistula were used and now I have had 3 good uses of 2 needles. However on one occasion a needle seemed to hit a nerve and caused a sharp pain, enough to bring tears to my eyes. Then 2 needles after that were very painf...

Re: Biopsy
Not much to take really as it's a very short procedure. I had mine under sedation quite a few years ago but wasn't encouraged and someone else recently wasn't allowed sedation so they used local anaesthetic and he didn't feel anything and is was over so fast. Perhaps just take drink and food in case...

First Needling ok but sore arm
Hi all I wanted to share that l had my first needle in the fistula on Friday and I was nervous but it was FINE! Neckline was also used. Anyone else new to it, don't worry, just make sure you numb it an hour before with EMLA cream. It's great. Second one was yesterday and that was fine too. However t...

Second neckline question
After the new neckline op doctors go and they are busy so you don't get to ask anything even though it's your body that has been cut. With my 2nd neckline there was a cluster of 6 stiches between the 2 on my neck and the exit site. I didn't have this before. When l asked the sister present she said ...
