Prednisone

My eGFR has dropped to such an extent that my nephrologist wants to commence prednisone. I googled it (I know I shouldn't) and there is a list of side effects as long as your arm. It focuses on mood swings and depression. The reason I ask about the side effects is that I suffer from the odd bout of ...

Can I become an organ donor if I have IgaN?

I want to help people after I have gone. I have IgaN so my kidneys aren't worth much but all my other organs are fine (or recent blood test do not reveal any other problems). Can I become a donor in the UK? Maybe my liver might be useful to somebody, or will they reject me. Best of luck for 2015 eve...

Re: Results

The protein reduction is a move by me to reduce red meat intake.
Most meat or fish is procured from dirty oceans or is horse dressed up as cow.
Red meat is not something I need going forward.

Re: Results

Wagolyn,

Thanks, I didn't intend to fudge the results, I meant I have been reducing protein intake for several months previously, not just in the run up to the test.

I did fly for 13 hours five days before the test but felt it would have been ok.

:D

I was biopsy diagnosed with IGA last January 2014. Since then my creatinine has been stable at around 110-120. Last bloods were creatinine 144 following some jigery pokery with my Ibersartan. I went down to 75mg daily of Ibersartan and my creatinine was 110 but protein was 150. Back up to 150mg dail...

Foam in Urine

Hello, I am relatively new to the forum. I am biopsy confirmed IGAN with Creatine 127 at last blood test and EGFR around 58. I take Ibersartan 150 for my BP. I have had foamy urine for years, even before I was diagnosed with IGAN. Of late it has been like fairy liquid washing up liquid. I mean if I ...

Re: are kidney problems hereditary?

My partner has one kidney. We have a son, 9 months old, he is fit and healthy to the best of our knowledge. Two kidneys and no problems to date. My partner was born with one kidney and one 'stump' which was a kidney that didn't develop properly from birth or something. I have IGA which I believe is ...

Tired all the time

I was found to be eGFR 58 and creatinine 127 last October. Biopsy confirmed iGA in January. Since then my creatinine was down to 104 and 110. One month ago bloodworm revealed creatinine was 127 again a;though my neprhologist was very happy with my protein leak (less than 200). Recently I am tired al...

Hello, My name is John and I am 39. I am from the North West of England.
