Re: Has anyone had to change career due to kidney issues?

None of my business but who wants to be involved with such a vain bunch of people anyway? If you are a model human being you will have flows, we all do, it is a facet of human existence. I suspect you are attractive, why would one body line make a difference? Before I got sick, my partner had a kidn...

Travel and eGFR

My eGFR has been falling like a rocket. 35 in October, 25 December 20 early Jan. I accept the inevitable. I am still working and travelling. My maximum flight time is 7 hours. I often end up in Europe within 2 or 4 hours of home. This will end soon, I know. What is the lowest eGFR I can fly with? I ...

Re: Timescales

Thank you Steven and I hope your situation is resolved as soon as possible.

Did you try any IV steroids or chemo? Did that have any effect?

Timescales

Having gone from diagnosis of IGA in Janauary 2014 and am now at eGFR 19. It goes down by the week. I work away and my neph wants me to have another biopsy to see if there is anything worth saving through IV immuno or IV chemo. My last biopsy showed 13 out of 17 filters were blocked. That was two ye...

Stephen I am not as advanced as you but right behind you with eGFR of 20%, was 35% in November and 25% in December.
I will be following you with great interest and I hope for a very positive outcome in both the short and long term for you.
Good luck

eGFR Down 30% in 6 months to 20%

I was diagnised with IGA two years ago on New Years Day 2014. EGFR was 60 and above. Two month ago (4 December 2015) eGFR was 35 so I came off Ibersartan. As of Christmas Eve eGFR was 25. I started pred 60mg on Christmas day. EGFR is now 200. My creatinine has just been rising, rising, rising. I hav...

Re: Severe loss of eGFR

Thank you. I do not even have salt in the house.
My BP is around 125 85.
I eat well.
I do like a can of coke every other day. That will stop. I do eat fruit and veg. daily.
If the pred does not work then ny doc will consider dialysis. At night so I can work days.
Thank you

Re: Creatinine creeping up

Hello, When I joined I was arounf eGFR 58 with creatinine around 110 or so. My neph interpreted this as giving me a 15% chance of failure within 10 years. This was in Jan 2014. My latest results indicate I am around the 200 mark and my protein leak is still under 1 but it rises. This was interpreted...

Strange Sensations.

I am an IGA sufferer. Diagnosed Jan 14 but symptoms before then. eGFR is below 50 but only just. I have some weird sensations. My right foot feels like something is trapped between the toes, like some sock or a cotton ball. Naturally there is nothing there. My left foot feels cold most of the time b...

Re: Struggling With Rashes - Creatinine Levels

I am at 1.6 and I get terrible itches around my ankles, but have done so for years. No rashes though. 1.6 in itself is fairly early stage (I have iGAN) so the itch might be an allergy or something. The only symptom I get nowadays is fatigue but I do work 50 hours a week so may not even be that. I ge...

Re: Creatinine creeping up

Thank you one and all. I eat 5 fruit and veg per day and walk everywhere. I allow myself a monthly can of coke. I eat chocolate once per day. I know these will have to go. I do not mind going vegetarian. I believe my body was made for that type of existence. Its just that protein fills me up. Thanks...

Creatinine creeping up

Hello, I am biopsy confirmed IGAN patent. My creatinine was 1.3mg/dl this time last year, 1.5mg/dl in February, 1.6mg/dl in April now 1.7mg/dl. I am a UK citizen based in Saudi Arabia. When I go home I do repeat blood and they come out at around 120 micromol/l last year, now 150 micromol/l. Protein ...
