Re: Tacro levels post tx

Yes Rick can be tricky to remember the evening dose. Thankfully I've got a Casio G shock watch so the alarm goes off to remind me.

Re: Tacro levels post tx

The consultant thought that now I'm a year post tx that levels of 8 and 9 were slightly high for me so decided to reduce the tacro to 2mg daily. I'm sure 5.7 is in the normal range and he'd have phoned if it was a problem, was just interested to see what levels others were running at. Just had my la...

Re: Tacro levels post tx

Sounds like they are sorting it at least Sally :P
Hopefully the increase in meds will get the levels back to normal :)

Tacro levels post tx

What are people's levels running at? I'm two days short of my tx anniversary and have been running at 8/9 taking 2.5mg twice a day. Just had them reduced to 2mg twice a day a fortnight ago and blood test on Tuesday was 5.7 which is the lowest since I was just out of hospital. Lets know your levels.....

Re: Anxiety Issues Post Diagnosis.

Don't know why you'd feel idiotic posting that. I started feeling quite anxious a couple of years before transplant, not sure why as I'd never felt like that before and was fine for a few years post original diagnosis. Thought the op and generally feeling much better would help stop it but hasn't re...

Re: EPO

11 isn't very low for a gfr of 13, they only use EPO to keep it between 11 and 12 anyway. Think I was started when my haemoglobin dropped below 10.

Re: Anyone with IGA here? All new to this

I have IGA, had a transplant last October. If you have protein and blood in the urine then it is a sure sign you will end up needing dialysis/transplant. I would get him to ask about steroid and immunosuppressive treatment at the hospital as it often works very well in halting the decline of the kid...

Re: The Team Tibbs Results are in...

Good luck with the root canal. I had it done pre transplant with a fraction of the anaesthetic, didn't feel a thing. Certainly hurt my wallet though, think it was £800
Got to have a gold crown fitted next week..there goes another £400

Re: Great South Run training plan (for Tibbs)

26.2 miles on the bike for me this morning. Much better than running as it isn't so stressful on the old joints :)
The triban3 road bike from Decathlon, what a bargain at only £300!

Re: Neph visit 11th March 2013

Maybe mine were abit worse than yours, creatinine was just getting over 300 when I was put on them. I was leaking loads of protein but the Prednisolone and Azathioprine reduced the creatinine by nearly 100 to just over 200, wonder drugs! I was apprehensive about taking them as they do have side effe...

Re: Neph visit 11th March 2013

2mg of Candesartan is a waste of time, that won't be doing anything of note. Amlodipine is a good drug for blood pressure though although 5mg is again a very low dose. When I had your function I was on 8mg Candesartan, 10mg Amlodipine and 7.5mg of Bisoprolol. As well as steroid treatment and immuno ...

Re: 10 months post TX. BK Virus. Triathlon.

I'm 4 months post tx and doing plenty of cycling and running. 20 miles on the road bike and I'm knackered though! Triathlon sounds like a challenge and a half, good luck with it!

I had one ultrasound hours after the op when I was out of it presumably but that is the only one I have had.
