Shoulder Pain

Thanks Helen,
I'll give it a try, do I do it to music? I'd try standing on my head if it would help. I have been on to my Renal team who are looking into it. Fred

Shoulder pain

I have been on APD for over 2 years. In October I was admitted to hospital to have a duodenal ulcer sorted out. It was a general ward and I was given CAPD with which I was unfamiliar and I belated realised so was the nursing staff who failed to flush air out of the bag before starting the fill proce...

For the cramps, quinine sulphate from my GP. 1 tablet a day did the job. I built a model boat one year, a sailing barge, it consisted of a million strips of wood and all the accessories, it took extreme care and concentration and lasted a whole winter.Cost £40, worth every penny. I found it occupied...

I was trained at Leicester General on the operation of CAPD and APD equipment, at no time was it suggested that home dialysis was conditional on my having a carer(unless they automatically assumed that my wife was my carer). However a female trainee told us and the staff that her husband absolutely ...

KIDNEY DISEASE IS NOT POPULAR

Cancer is POPULAR.

Aids is POPULAR

Sexually transmitted diseases are POPULAR.

The common denominator is CELEBRITY.

CELEBS bring publicity.

We need a famous Personality who suffers from ESRF.

Never mind mate. Try this: Three nuns die and go to heaven. At the pearly gates they are met by St Peter. He says "Sisters, you have all led such exemplary lives that the Lord is granting you 6 months to go back to earth and be anyone you wish" The first nun says"I wish to be 'Sophia ...

Assisted PD

I am 83, therefore could be considered in your husand's age range. I have been dialysing for almost 18 months. Firstly on CAPD and subsequently on APD. I am active and(I hope) mentally alert, even so it takes concentration and attention to detail when setting up the machine each evening and disconne...

Well then Thumps! It all depends on your personal circumstances. Are you young or not so young? Are you employed or unemployed? Have you a home, a husband, children? All these factors will influence your decision apart from your medical condition. Not having experienced Haemo, I cannot comment. CAPD...

Well Then! Folks! It was like this. Due to my age, I am a permanent member of the APD brigade. For a while now I have been totally useless, no energy, no get up and go, pathetic in every respect. My numbers are well within permissable limits, I am even allowed a night off a week. It was Jill,my Home...

Dear Rachels. You have my utmost sympathy. The only comfort I can offer your dear old Dad is the fact we are relatively in a similar age group. I an 83 and have been home dialysing for about 18 months. It has not been without its problems. A hernia operation was my most serious which led to leakage ...

Portable Kidney

When, likeme, your standing on the side lines at an advanced age leaning on your faithful old Baxter and absorbing the passing kidney scene. It is logical to suppose with the miniturisation of electronics and associated equipment that a form of portable kidney will be developed. I visualise it as not...

New to dialysis.

Hi! Jax. I've had a few problems with my exit site. Red and sore and weeping but not really bleeding. Antibiotics clear things up for a while. For you its early days yet. The main thing is absolute cleanliness from anyone handling the dressings and that goes for the nurses as well. Make sure that th...
