Re: anybody with low GFR( mine is 20) and still continue to
I worked full time until my transplant. I'm not sure I'd have been able to do so on dialysis, but I was lucky and skipped that bit!

Re: What caused your kidney disease?
I have glomerulonephritis caused by vasculitis. My eGFR dropped to about 12% when I got my pre-dialysis transplant. I'll be "celebrating" my 4th anniversary next month.

Re: UTI without the UTI?
Turns out I did have a UTI, but the test was contaminated. I think this means they lost it/dropped a biscuit in it. Anyway, antibiotics done and feeling better

UTI without the UTI?
I've got all the symptoms of a UTI: cloudy and smelly urine (sorry tmi) and sometimes pain on urination. This has been going on for a couple of weeks now. It started at the beginning of April; I told my GP of the symptoms, gave them a sample and was given antibiotics. Sample came back negative for b...

Re: anybody with low GFR( mine is 20) and still continue to
I worked at 20 and below. I worked 4 days a week as a teacher. I did have a lot of time off, but that was because of stuff going on at work rather than illness per se. I was tired too and didn't find anything helped other than not being at work! 4 years post-tx and I work full time again (I was pt f...

Re: Epstein Barr Virus
Thanks To be honest, I'm feeling pretty wiped out this weekend. I've slept so much!! I don't feel ill per se, but I'm definitely not right. Grr. Don't have time for this nonsense. It turns out that the insistence on going such a long way for the blood test is for the paperwork. The PAPERWORK. That's...

Re: Epstein Barr Virus
Thanks... it makes a bit more sense now. I wouldn't have been so grumpy on the phone if they'd explained that there might actually be something serious triggered by the virus. God I hate being treated like I'm too stupid to understand things... little bit of information goes a long way!! I'm almost ...

Epstein Barr Virus
I'm full of grumbles at the moment. I've been summoned to my "local" hospital (40 miles away) for a single solitary blood test for EBV. Despite my complaints about distance/time/huge inconvenience, I've been assured it is VERY important and they really are the "only" place to go ...

Advagraf reduction side effects
A month or two ago I had my advagraf dose reduced from 3mg to 2.5mg, and my creatinine is now recovering. I ran out of the 0.5s on Friday so took 2mg on Sat and Sun. Today a clinic my blood pressure was low at 100/60, which is v low for me. When having my bloods taken, I came over all faint and wobb...

Re: Creeping Creatinine
No. It's a pain. Although I do have a TA quite a lot. I'm still rubbish with water. Cordial might be the answer but I don't want sugar and I won't touch artificial sweetener.serizawa1234 wrote:there is no way you can just wander out to keep refilling and nipping the loo if you are a teacher.

Re: Creeping Creatinine
Hi folks Just to update, that my tac level was sky high and as the dose of tac has been reduced, my creatinine has come down too. Glad I read this: I've been camel-like all week. I'll take a 2l bottle of water to work tomorrow and I bloody well will drink it somehow. If you hear about chaos in a cla...

Re: Creeping Creatinine
I've got some bottled water to take to work and will pace myself to get through it. I have also bought a carafe that I have filled for home use. I *should* be able to drink a litre at work and another litre at home. I know it's not the full whack, but it's much better than I have been doing.

Re: Creeping Creatinine
I confess I have returned to my old camel-like ways. If I'm lucky, on a good day, I'll have a cup of coffee and a small bottle of water all day, then some water when I get home. Perhaps 750ml all day? Bad days, forget the water and make it two cups of coffee. I know, I know. I've never been a big dr...

Re: Creeping Creatinine
Thank you Dan, that was really helpful. News is generally encouraging. The hospital phoned me today to reduce my tac dose to 2.5mg instead of 3mg. They're sending up the new pills via courier to my GP tomorrow. I will go back for more bloods in two weeks. I will drink all the water in the taps if it...

Creeping Creatinine
Please please please reassure me :( I'm trying hard not to fear the worst. Creatinine has been creeping up for about six months. Was around 120 now up to 178. TX in July 2012. I've been in amazing health since early 2014. I've just moved from Manchester to Cornwall. I take advagraf 3mg daily but at ...
