Thank you all for your replies. It sounds like I will be fine - bp droping may be something to be aware of as I am lightheaded around mid morning while the bp tablets kick in.
Take care
Mick

Affect of high altitude on Kidneys - Anyone know?
Hi I had a 2nd transplant in Oct 2010 after my wonderful wife donated. I want to go on holiday to somewhere like Switerland and never considered that the high altitude could be a problem. I was watching a TV documentary that was showing the affect of high altitude on the body e.g high blood pressure...

Re: Work/Income Support/Help
Hi You can work less than 16 hrs a week and still be entitled to income support. However, your earnings will be taken off your income support after a small disregard of the earnings depending on your cicumstances e.g £5 disregard if single. As you are already planning just put it down in a letter o...

Re: apply for a job
I would hope the company would still give you the job and the fact that you have hdad a transplant shouldn't come into it. I would suggest that if you do have any problems then contact any of the following for advice: ACAS, Equality and Human Rights Commission, Jobcentre Disabilty Adviser or free le...

Re: time until able to drive post transplant
Hi I was told that I could drive after 6 weeks. My wife (who was my donor) suggested I put a small towell over my transplant site and seat belt. I did this for a few weeks and it didn't interfere with driving. Oh and when I first drove it was at end of Nov 2010 after the first lot of snow. I had to ...

Thank you all very much. Smudge the information you have supplied is brilliant. I had read the act but seeing your explanation with it makes it so much easier to understand. I may take you up on the offer of PM you if I can think of anything else. I will be giving my line manager who hasn't got a cl...

Hello everyone My amazing wife donated a kidney to me last October. I have taken 1 weeks sick following an angioplasty in March and had been well until the beginning of Oct. I was then taken into hospital with a high temperature. No firm diagnosis was given but it was possibly CMV. Local hospital ha...

Re: CHICKEN POX AND SHINGLES
Hi Sorry to hear about the awful time you and your husband are going through. To try and give you some optimism I had a 2nd reansplant off my wife last Oct. We went through hell to get to the operating table but the op went perfect, However, the 2nd day post op I had a reaction to the tac and was pr...

Re: Urine just about stopped
Hi Jill
I cannot offer any insight into what the reason may be but I would strongly recommend you to phone your renal hospital and ask to be put through to the renal ward. They will have on call renal consultants who will advise you.
