I got a kidney from my mom as well. I was more scared for her then I was for myself. As she is older and all. But her recovery time was 6 weeks, and she did amazingly well. However in my case, her kidney didnt take for me. Its confusing really, the kidney is in PERFECT condition, good blood flow, ev...

My doctors put me back on the list on monday, december 1. I have only had this one for a little over 3 months. I did plasma exchanges for 3 months, and nothing helped. At all. What really upsets me is that I recieved my moms kidney in august, and she was a perfect match, so I feel like my mom put he...

A question for Girls.
Hey ladies. I was just wondering, if anyone after their transplant, had mentraul problems. My period is off cycle, I had my surgery in August, and since then my period hasnt been on the correct cycle, its always late. And sometimes it will only last for 2 days. I was just wondering if it could have ...

I always thought that dialysis for me was going to be temporary. But since my transplant failed after 10 hours, I believe its going to be a more permanant thing. It sucks, it really does, I hate it. My dialysis clinic makes you feel comfortable and the nurses are really nice, but just the whole dial...

I guess the only thing that would scare me, rather then anything else, would be the infection part. But It would be so nice to be able to take a shower. Your not allowed to take a shower with a temporary Hemo cath. Its rather annoying. And I want to work so bad. I dropped out of school because of ho...

I think I'm definetly leaning towards PD, because I am only 17, and I will be 18 in May. And I do have a life lol. But yeah my kidney didnt work but they are waiting for 3 months with doing the plasma exchange (which is to the end of this month) until they put me back on the list. My doctor said tha...

Making a huge dialysis decision..
So, as some of you know I have my transpant in August. It hasnt kicked in yet, they say its a recurrance of Nephrotic Syndrome. My Dr. said that I should start thinking about long term dialysis. So that leaves me, PD versus a Fistula.. I was wondering if you guys could give me your opinions, on eith...

Call me crazy but according to my doctors, or at least to my surgeon, he said that I shouldnt even be peeing, but my church (and I am not a religious person) have been praying since before I even got my kidney! I dont think the doctors have any clue about whats going on. My creatnine is still droppi...

As of wednesday my creatinine dropped to 5.2. Under 6, which is amazing! Im averaging peeing about 4 to 5 times a day at about 150 cc's each time. So all in all I guess things are getting better. They are looking towards taking me off dialysis as soon as possible. One question, has anyones heamo cat...

I've started urinating a little bit more each day, but the doctors are telling me that my levels (i.e creatnine and such) arent getting better. So we just don't know what to think, or what to do... Even the doctors wont give us a straight answer. And its almost like they arent talking to eachother. ...
