Re: doxazosin

Hi , I was on Doxazosin for many years, 16 mg per day together with a variety of other high blood pressure meds at different intervals. I personally never had any problems with them and favoured them above all the rest. I am only on a small dose of Lisinipril at the moment but wouldn't be concerned ...

Hi I have a current HB of 6.7. I have had repeated transfusion since October 2012, 19 to be exact , the last two yesterday. Each time I have transfusions my HB goes up then goes down very quickly. I am on 10,000 units of Epo twice a week and 100mls of Venofer twice week as well. I am currently a hea...

Re: Macular Oedema

I had a transplant in March 2008 and sadly had to have a nephrectomy in November 2012. The lead up to the decision about the removal of my kidney was terrible as I was so very ill so when it was removed I was relieved which is a sad thing to say. I have had infections since the removal and now have ...

I take clonazepam for RSL, it helps most of the time but I have just had the dose doubled as life was getting difficult through lack of sleep

Re: Biopsy Recovery

Hi I had a kidney biopsy on one of my native kidney's in 1990 & another in 1991 and it was horrendous. I had a transplant in May 2008 and a kidney biopsy in August 2010 to see what was causing my kidney function to deteriorate, I am glad I had it done as I was able to understand what was going w...

Re: TAKING A SHOWER WITH A NECKLINE IN ?

Hi I had a neckline for many years, probably around 3, I never wore a dressing as they used to pull my skin off. I used to shower and dry the area with gauze, I also used to swim too. I never had an infection, I did the same when on PD as well. Maybe not for everyone but it worked for me. Good luck....

Re: My neph phoned me to ask me to cease posting on this for

Having only recently returned to the forum and having been following this thread for the past several weeks, though I have trawled back and read some of the earlier posts, I have no comment to make on Kipper's experience as I have no knowledge of Kipper or his situation other than what I have read. ...

Re: Kidney from the list - we almost got it!!!

Hi Claire, I & another were called in November 2005, not as a back up but as the main recipients. It didn't go ahead as there was a problem with the donor as he only had one kidney and nobody had known, the other person received received the kidney. I dealt with it quickly as I felt that it wasn...

Fistula

Hi Amanda, I had exactly the same in December 2007 and only used it for 6 weeks prior to getting my tx. Prior to that I had two ordinary fistulas that never worked. I ended up with a neck line for 2.5 years. This more complex fistula certainly worked. It still does some 2.5 years since my tx. I actu...

Live Products

I am with Mal on this one, I was also told post tx that "live" yoghurts, actimel etc were not to be consumed. I am 2 years post tx and have stayed off these just in case. If anyone knows different I would be pleased to hear :)
