Re: CMV Experiences
I've recently had a transplant, I tested negative for CMV and EBV but my donor was positive for EBV, which I think is similar to CMV as in it is a dormant virus that most of us carry. I also take the drug mentioned above to stop me receiving it from my new kidney.

Re: Incompatible transplant
I can't imagine having a neckline in for 2 weeks or more, I'm going to hate it! Really, wow! I didn't realise plasmapheresis would be like that. I've just got today's blood results and my function is now 6%, gutted! At what stage did you start dialysis? (if you did) I doubt they'll leave me at 6? To...

Re: Incompatible transplant
Thanks for your replies. You're right, just take each day as it comes, who knows what's around the corner! 15 rounds of plasmapheresis, wow! I'm due to have a neckline fitted 2 weeks before the operation and have 2 rounds before transplant and 1 after and then whip it out! (I hope!) I really don't w...

He is an A+ blood group and I am O+, I have low to medium antibodies. My question is.. I will be receiving plasmapheresis a couple...

Re: Please help
Thank you for your replies. I'm having a third biopsy today, the first one showed a lot of inflammation and things going on and the second one showed it had all gone but left behind scar tissue. There must be still something going on as the steroids are clearly helping me. Hopefully this third one t...

Please help
Hi I'm Aimee I was diagnosed with crescentic glomerulonephritis in November which I developed during pregnancy. Since then I've had cyclophosphamide infusions and been on high dose prednisolone which brought my kidney function from 15% to 43%. I was then tapered off the steroids (yey!) When I was do...

Re: Looking for some advice please
I suppose what I'm wanting to know is, will i get that function back after this relapse and will my specialist put me back on a high dose of Prednisolone to stop the inflammation quickly? I started on 60mg of Prednisolone on November and I've hated every side effect :-( Also I should add that my Glo...

Glomerulonephritis
Hi, I was diagnosed a couple of months ago with glomerulonephritis, my immune system is attacking my kidneys. My eGFR was as low as 15% at one point, I was then prescribed steroids which improved my function to 29%. My specialist then stopped the steroids and my function declined to 19%! I have sinc...
