Re: Standard of care for "suspected" IgAN?

I was symptomatic with IGA in 2009. It was not diagnosed until 2014. By which time damage was substantial. I was under a Urologust in 2009 and 2012 but he determined the blood and protein in my wee was one of those things. Once diagnosed my nephrologist set a BP target of 120/85. This was achieved a...

Re: How many have returned to work after transplant?

I had my TX on 14 December 2017. 9 weeks later I am thinking of going back. I have had a job offer. I am a professional and the work is desk based. I have been great for the last few weeks but the last couple of days have been sluggish. I intend to accept the offer and go back to work in March for 3...

Re: Excessive Urinating After Transplant

I passed at least 15 litres in the day or two after tx.
Today I am 7 weeks out and I have peed about 30 times today. I get the odd day when I need to go 2 or 3 times per hour. But never see any infection in my samples.

Post TX Recovery

Iga took my kidneys Dec 15 / Jan 16.

I received a tx from a paired exchange on 14 Dec 17.

Just over 5 weeks ago.

I do feel less toxic and generally better but fatigue is still an issue. Will I ever feel ready to go back to work? Will I always be tired?

Donor is not a tissue match

Having previously been advised that my donor was a 5/6 tissue match it nie appears he is 0/6.

Has anyone ever taken a 0/6 from a living relative and what was the outcome?

Donor has Left Bundle Branch Block

Will this prevent him from donating?
He is my cousin, 57 and otherwise healthy.
They have said they will check with Dr. to see if he can proceed.

Re: Suspected Iga nephropathy

I was diagnosed January 2014 through biopsy although we have since identified symptoms going back to 2009. I was given a 10% chance of kidney failure within ten years. By January 2016 the kidneys failed. Been on dialysis since then. Cousin is donating to me in summer. Lost my job, my GF told me she ...

Mortgage

My partner of 9 years just bailed.
I have a tx coming soonish.
I gave enough money for a good deposit on a small house in Merseyside.
Does kidney disease or having a tx preclude you from mortgages?
Thanks

Testing for Transplant

My cousin offered to donate last May and started testing June. We are still ongoing. He missed one appointment in September and it took three months before they could see him again, that's life I suppose. Then he was given a 24 hours BP monitor to wear on 2 February. Still no results from this test....
