Yep Guys.

Maybe the active members were too small in number.

This is quite active:

But seems to be very US orientated.

Not sure i can help with questions about "Medicare"! :D

Re: How “back to normal” are you?

I wear a mask in all shops, and a proper KN95 type mask. But still go to cinemas, where i wear a mask if it's busy. Pubs and restaurants. If i've booked a table, i look inside and ask for the one in the corner or furthest away from others. I then sit in the chair furthest from where people will be w...

Re: Vaccines for Covid 19

I'm at Guy's as well.

Phoned the unit and they said just come to the walk in centre at Guy's and they will have all my details.

I did and in and out in 5 mins.

Got the text today inviting me. A bit late but there you go.

Re: Vaccines for Covid 19

This was the latest Govt info but hidden deep in the document: "If you've had the 3rd dose for people with a severely weakened immune system, you'll be eligible for a booster dose from 3 months (91 days) after your 3rd dose. You cannot book a booster using this service yet, but your GP or hospi...

Re: Azathioprine or Mycophenolic acid?

Been on aza for 40 years now. The major side effect is minor skin cancers. I've had 3 BCC's and about 4 SCC's. All needed removal. There is a risk that you could develop a malignant skin cancer but your unit should give you advice as to what to look out for and referral to a specialist dermatologist...

Re: covid

A neighbour and transplant patient in his 70s did. He was a bit "poorly" for a few days and on the second day was taken to hospital for oxygen. After about 2 weeks he was doing walking laps of his front garden and a couple of weeks later was walking in the common near us. This was about a ...

40 Year Anniversary

For what it's worth, if people are interested, i had the 40th anniversary of my transplant on the 23rd Sept. The kidney is still working well, eGFR about 60, Creatinine about 110. So for all those more recent, hopefully yours will last as long, or longer than mine. The rest of me is falling apart, p...

Re: Vaccines for Covid 19

For what it's worth guys, i received a letter today saying that "My adult household contacts are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination."

This is because they are living with someone with "severe immunosuppression".

Gotta arrange through my GP.

Re: Vaccines for Covid 19

Sue et al, Just spoke to my GP who is reasonably clear that this is not a matter of concern. As much as i understand it, the current antibody tests are designed to pick up signs that you have gained immunity from having had Covid. They won't measure if you have had a T-Cell response from the vaccine...

Re: Vaccines for Covid 19

So i had my antibody test and it came back saying that i had none, a bit disappointing. However it doesn't necessarily mean i have no immunity: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/03/120301143426.htm And this comment from an eminent immunologist: https://www.imperial.ac.uk/people/k.pollock Sh...

Re: Vaccines for Covid 19

And as a follow up, there was an article in The Times today written by one of their journalists who was immunocompromised as he had blood cancer. He had the vaccine in Jan and has not developed antibodies. I had my first vaccine in Jan, so following that, i have booked an antibody test for myself to...

My renal unit isn't doing them - no reason given - and says GP will contact me. They didn't seem terribly interested TBH.
Was arranged by my renal unit, but i know my GP Surgery is doing it as well.
