i've had 2 rejections so far.

i can only tell you about my episodes. i was deemed dehydrated and that cause the sudden spike in my levels. after that i developed pneumonia and was given the antibotic thymoglobin (unsure of the correct spelling) for 5 or 7 days and my levels returned to 1.4 i have had stage 1 and 2 rejections. yo...

It seems that the second transplant is the charm!!!! :lol: I am very grateful to the family that donated their loved one organs. I am still some what bitter towards the renal staff at John Hopkins for not trying to save my brother's kidney or test for allergic reations to the anti-rejection medicati...

also, she is on hemo m/w/f for 3.5 hours. a liquid diet, and she was told that she was too old to be put on the list for a donor (i'm not sure od the age requirements) she is currently in a florida hospital. if i get any more info i will post it.

What questions should my grandmother-in-law asked her doctor

she is a 74yr old newly dialysis patient and i am not sure of the correct questions that should be asked. ido not know how to speak french. so the language barrier is a problrm for me. general questions, concerns, meds,etc. would be helpful.

i verified this with my team of doctors at john hopkins.... q1. they can do plasmapheresis for several reasons: my problem was to except my spouses kidney because we did not match (in fact they said that my blood attacked my spouse's blood during testing which then haulted the rest of the testing.) ...

howard unversity & university of wisconsin have this..

Dr. Callendar is the director at Howard university in Washington, dc. and Dr. Millie samiego of university of Wisconsin (whom used to work at john Hopkins, both I have been evaluated by) they are both excellent and very knowledgeable on that subject. :P for one you don't need a living donor, or 60% ...

Gifford said there are no plans to begin testing other donor organs for the virus since it is so rare and testing could take several days, potentially making the organs unusable. He said he believed there was no commercially available test for the virus.
