Re: Hospital stay after transplant?
I received my transplant last June and, as rheaybou says, I was euphoric at first and very comfortable as I was hooked up to a self administered IV pain killer. 48 hours in I was eager to get up and shower etc. Day 3 though I went down hill quite badly for a couple of days, really suffering with nau...

Re: Feeling Ill
I was lucky and received a deceased donor transplant before I started dialysis and my eGFR was 10. I was still feeling quite well, only really suffering with some cramp and lack of energy, plus I would frequently feel muzzy headed (brain fog) at work in the afternoons, but then don't we all! I...

So sorry to read this Midnight Sun. Sounds like you and your family have been through an awful time. Your poor Mum. At least she is at peace now. Best wishes.

I like Daisy4246's idea about the day out. But for an alternative idea, how about some nice warm bed socks? My feet are always freezing!!

Which transplant centre, Plymouth or Bristol? Thoughts pls.
Morning all I have recently moved to Devon and therefore my transplant centre needs to be moved from Guys to one closer to me down here. I was surprised a couple of days ago when my consultant at Exeter asked me whether I would prefer Plymouth or Bristol! I didn't realise I would have a choice and i...

Re: Ibaprofen !!!!! Disaster
Hi Dylanmace Sorry to hear about your problems. Not surprisingly, you have a lot of questions, I'm sure. Some others will be able to answer here, so ask away, some you will need to direct to your doctor. With regard to your question 'what does your future hold', I don't think anyone here can say for...

Hi Mandypink Welcome to the group. This must have come as quite a shock to you. I also have PKD but am fortunate enough (if that is the right expression!?!) that it runs in my family and so, not only have I known that I have had it for 30 years (I am 51), but I also already knew quite a lot about it...

Re: Skiing and other energetic activities!
Hi Dibs No experience of skiing with PKD whilst on PD I am afraid. I do however have PKD and have been on the deceased donor list (currently suspended due to low WBC) and I am planning to go skiing at the end of January. If I have no luck soon with the transplant, I plan to do PD and hoping to conti...

Thanks Dibs
Yes, I think the average is still 2 to 3 years in the UK. I am quite lucky in that I have the rarest blood group (AB) but it means I can have a kidney from any blood group at all.
Hang in there!
