The Kidney Patient Guide (KPG) does not collect personal information for any purpose other than to respond to visitor's queries or enable them to use the bulletin board. We do not use your details for marketing purposes and will not pass your details to other organisations.
EmailIf you use standard email to communicate with the KPG, including email links on this website, this will not be secure and you should be aware that we cannot guarantee it remains confidential whilst in transit. We retain details provided in your email(s) for the purposes of dealing with your enquiry.
Bulletin BoardThe KPG includes an active bulletin board. We will ask you for a username and your email address as part of the registration procedure. Many users prefer to use a pseudonym as their username. You can choose to hide your email address from other site users by entering your profile (from the link in header) and setting the 'Always show my email address' option to 'No'.
The bulletin board software enables users to create a personal profile, including information such as your email address, website address, and instant messaging contact details. These details are not are compulsory and not entering them will not affect your ability to use the bulletin board. Please be aware that this is a public site and exercise suitable caution when creating a profile.
Posts to the bulletin board are not monitored before they are displayed. Please be careful about publishing any personally identifying material you are uncomfortable with. If you do accidentally post something which you would prefer to be removed, please contact the KPG at kpg@pobox.com
Contributions to the bulletin boards and email correspondence to the KPG (and statistics derived from them) may be used for research, funding applications or other purposes aimed at improving understanding of living with kidney disease. In any case where this occurs the KPG will not use any material which could identify the contributor.
LogsWe collect log file information from all our visitors. Log files allow us to record visitors' use of the site. These web logs do not identify individual users and are collected to help us understand how many people are using the site and how we can improve it.
