Lercanidipine

Post by Doctor.Rock »

Hi everybody

I'm just looking for advice & piece of mind really, About 2 weeks ago I was prescribed Lercanidipine 10mg for high blood pressure, but in the leaflet that came with it it said not to take if you "have severe liver or kidney problems"

At my last blood test my kidney function was 36%

Is it okay to keep taking Lercanidipine?

Hello DocRoc. I was also prescribed Lercandipine pre-transplant when my eGFR was much lower. Not aware of it causing any issues.

I do not take this specific medicine, but several of the ones I do state similar messages, like "Consult doctor before taking this if you have problems with kidney". But they were prescribed by my kidney doctor, so he has taken that into consideration. Did your doctor who prescribed your medication have awareness of your impaired kidney function?

Thanks for the replies everybody, sorry I should have stated that I was prescribed it by my Kidney Specialist, as Amlodipine made my legs and feet swell up
