Dialysis a day before a fistula op

Post by Daisy4246 »

Does anyone know why l have to dialysis precisely the day before a fistula operation. I will be doing an extra one but wondered what the reason was as the explanation given to me is unclear.

I would think the logic is, your blood will be in good condition, and should anything go wrong, there is more leeway before more dialysis becomes urgent.

It is always best, if you do not understand what you are being told about your treatment, to say so.
Most medical practitioners are willing to help you understand, because a happy patient will respond better.
So, don't be embarrassed, if you don't understand ask for clarification.

Best wishes.
