Hi everyone
I don't know if many of you are aware of this but I think that it is something that we should all be actively involved in.

Please write to your MP and/or the PM so something can be done about it.
Thanks

paediatric haemodialysis units

Dear Mike,
I agree this is important! It is unreasonable to ask a parent to make the trip of hundreds of miles to have their child dialyzed! What if something were to happen to the child on the way? Being so far from the unit, it would be a true medical emergency.
I know that this is in the UK, but is there anything that we as US citizens can do to help? I know we cannot write to your Prime Minister or government officials, but there must be something we can do. Thanks for any information!

I agree its unreasonable that there are only 12 paediatric units in the UK.
this isn't new, so much support to this campaign.. I guess US users might ask UK Based webfriends form other circles to add their support?
HOWEVER. its worth noting that the UK has quite low renal provision overall compared to many other countries.. for haemodialysis in particular. The exact numbers are somewhere in the latest online RenalRegistry report. If i can find them I'll quote them later.
YES we need more paed units. but we need more of everything else too so that when kids grow up, the services are there for them.
