Nervous

Post by Bruce »

It's 4:30 am here and I can't sleep. I start PD training this morning and I don't really know what it's going to entail. I've done the research, but I won't know until I get in there and do it. Wish me luck. Bruce

PD Training

Post by R30 »

Hey Bruce
Good luck. PD training is easy - took me only one day to get the hang of it. It's really no problem, and you should start to feel better quite soon.
Let us know how you get on.
Cheers

P/d training alot easier than u first imagine  in no time @ all it will be like second nature to u. We did training over few hours whilst daughter in hospital having started on it as an emergency, so had lots thoughts whizzin round our heads n tired travelling etc. But Dr & nurses really helpful, and many sites like this and others' supportive with people going through similar process as uself. Let us know how u get on?

best wishes Elaine & Rach UK

Hi Bruce.
You will have no problem whatsoever in getting used to this treatment.
As with many things in life, the prospect of it is scary - fear of the unknown and all that. Once you get to grips with the basic principles, you should find it a breeze.
I'm on about week 5 of this treatment, so am no expert by any means, but it's amazing how quickly you adapt and include it in your lifestyle.
I also feel so much better than pre-dialysis - more energetic, sleeping less, waking earlier and feeling refreshed etc.
Good luck with it all.
Keep us informed.

PD training

Best of luck, Bruce! As everyone else has said, there's nothing to it! I was actually SUPPOSED to "train" for 5 days (heaven knows why...) I walked out at lunch break the first day & never went back! It was all SO elementary that I just couldn't stand it anymore & felt there was simply no need to stay. I got the hang of it just fine, in any case. Keeping everything clean & sterile and knowing the symptoms of potential problems will do the trick for you, I'm sure. Take care, and keep posting to let us know how it goes.
all the best,
Cheryl
