My nephrologist sent me to have a baseline renogram after seeing the results of my ace inhibited renogram. He said if the results were the same he would have to do a renal angiogram. Well the radiologist said the results appear very similar. But he also put "This pattern does not suggest renin dependant hypertension." Can anyone tell me what that last thing means? I'm stumped on that one???
Thanks!

Renin is a hormone produced by the kidney which aids in the regulation of blood pressure (if your kidney has low blood flow or you have low sodium, one of the ways it trys to raise blood pressure is via production of renin).
So it means that the scan does not suggest hypertension (high blood pressure ) that is dependant (controlled by) the renin from the kidney.
Hope this helps
