Muscle wasting mechanism found

Postby metabaron » Fri Mar 25, 2005 1:06 am

I don't know if anyone read this, but a few weeks ago I read it in Metro paper and I've just searched the web for this. Here's the link:

"Muscle wasting is associated with aging and a serious consequence of different diseases, including cancer and diabetes. Researchers at Joslin Diabetes Center, with the assistance of other collaborating researchers, have discovered an important biochemical pathway for muscle wasting—as well as a potential target for drug therapy. The study was published in the Oct. 15 issue of the journal Cell. "

Muscle wasting is also associated with kidney disease.
