Biopsy Results

Post by Thelma »

I had a renal biopsy 10 days ago (I'm pre dialysis and not transplanted). I saw my consultant on Tuesday and he told me the news isn't good. There's no active disease (vasculitis) thankfully, but my kidneys are more damaged than they thought. They took 17 gloms, of which 16 were sclerosed. I don't understand how the biopsy results can be so bad, but the blood results show very little change in eGFR/creatinine over the last few years. Are they basically saying the bloods aren't all that accurate?
