This is gross! Had a bad throat and cough for about a week now and have noticed some little white spots on my tongue that'd got worse so went to the emergency clinic cause my GP wasn't open with it being a double bank holiday. I expected it to be a mouth infection or thrush or something connected with my bad throat but that doctor happily announced that he thought they were warts!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He said to go to my GP tomorrow and he'd probably refer me to an oral specialist back at the hospital! He did say that he didn't know much about our drugs and about infections in people who take lots of drugs.
I feel gross now-yuk! Didn't even know you could get warts on your tongue! Not good for pulling!! Has anyone ever experienced this and have any advice for me?
I have to say Nikki that it does sound like oral thrush - a condition which I have had a few times due to taking antibiotics. I'd be very surprised if it was warts on your tongue.
This is the classic sign of oral thrush. Have you had any swelling of your tongue or hypersensitivity with either taste or temperature?
I was given a mouthwash to sort the problem out and it resolved within a week.

Thanks Ruth. Went to my own dr's surgery today but my dr was away so saw another. He said I looked flushed, like I had a temp and he took my blood pressure-I didn't tell him about what the other dr said until I heard what he had to say! He gave me some antibiotics and said it should clear it all up! I then told him about the wart idea and he just said I don't think so!!
Thank goodness! Hope these antibiotics do the trick!
