This is for Macaroni, who just posted on the 'introduction' thread.

There's a Scottish Kidney Patients' Federation - I just found a page listing their local associations, and the Edinburgh contact is listed as:

6. South East Scotland KPA (Edinburgh, Fife & The Lothians) Chair- Alison Blezard (0131) 336 5027, ali.blezard@tiscali.co.uk (also SKF SECRETARY)
Kathie Engleman (0131) 447 9493, kathie.engleman@blueyonder.co.uk

You might be able to get some advice from one of them about what to expect next week. Or someone here might have something to say.

Hope it all goes well.
