hi Keith

Sorry to hear of your troubles... sounds like a total nightmare.

I have never experienced anything like you're describing, but I am taking 500mg sodium bicarbonate alongside all my anti-rejection meds and have had no problems with absorption so far. This was initially to prevent acidosis as my new kidney was slow to wake up, but I'm still on it now, not sure for how long though. I *know* it sounds so simple that how could the nephs possibly have missed it, but if it were me I would definitely ask about it to make sure they have considered it, and if so, why they rejected it as an option.

Is there also the possibility that this new problem might not be related to the kidneys and something different entirely?

Sorry that I haven't been much help, but I hope you find a solution to your problems soon

Jen xx
