YOu might get a laugh out of this, but it isn't funny. One area in NJ just held a lottery. That's right. They had only 3000 shots, so they made a drawing and picked 3000 lucky people to get t hem. I think only those at risk were included. Prior illnesses, elderly, children, etc.

Let's hope it's not a bad flu year. It makes you wonder if they shouldn't have weighed up the risk of using contaminated flu shot against the risk of people dying should a flu epidemic or worse still, a pandemic break out. Especially as they use risk/benefit analysis when they decide if they are going to fund something. If I remember rightly, more people died from flu in 1918 than all the people killed during the war.
