Test !!!!

My family and friends are wondering how they get tested to see if they are a kidney doner match. Is it a simple blood test? Is it a kidney biopsy? Or other ?

How close are you at this point to transplant stage? Have you been referred yet to a transplant center? A good coordinator at your center will undoubtedly be able to help organize things for you and any potential donors.

For now, though, in answer to your question, (and just for a very basic start!): yes, indeed, your friends and family members will begin the whole process with a simple blood test, from which MANY things will be determined. Bloodwork will be the key to getting anyone started on the donation process. Sadly, it may also rule out a number of people, but even if it does, don’t give up hope of finding someone to donate!
