sleep''

can any one help'' i can not sleep at all now'' at first it was when
i came of diaylisis but now its every night.
i have been on diayalisis 8 month's now and it is manly cramps
what do you do to get a sleep' i take all what the consultant gives
me but still have problems.
what is your remady thanks.

Hi Mandy,

If you are cramping alot. talk to your Doctor, and ask him if your dry weight is too low.

Hi Mandy,..

I had a lot of problems sleeping when on heamodialysis. I found keeping my fluid restriction down helped with the cramps, but if your weight is set TOO LOW.. this will also cause cramps due to dehyration.

Gentle regular exercise also helps as does, a good level of haemoglobin.

Some patients get restless legs, which also impairs sleep.

I preferred NOT to take extra medication to make me sleep, but for some people this is an option they can ask their doctor about.
