Will it get better?

Hi all, I'm new to the site and had a little query.
Just had a brachiocephalic fistula procedure as the one at my wrist failed before I even got back to the ward. I'm not expecting miracles and know everything takes time but does the arterial steal syndrome get better? At the moment I can't even type without the whole arm aching and middle finger going numb, pretty awkward for a writer!
I've got my little squeezy ball and working on that but just wanted to hear from anyone who's had this and it got better.
Cheers, Greth.
