That is unfortunate, as Losartan also has some other benefits for protecting the kidneys as I understood it from my nephrologist (other than just lowering blood pressure). And also low risks of side effects.
Luckily I'm doing fine with just 2x 12.5mg Losartan daily. BP around 120-130 over 60-70. Doesn't seem to increase as kidney function declines, so I guess the "BP regulation part" of the kidney is still working for me.
However I had a few rounds of prednisone treatments for my ulcerative colitis which raises blood pressure temporary, up to about 145 systolic. It steadily drops with every week of tapering. Not worried about though - actually my creatinine values have consistently gone down and I've gained back 1-2% eGFR every time I've started a prednisone treatment.
