Bristol Southmead vs Birmingham QE

Post by newbie101 »

Hi,

I have just moved and my new GP has said that we are slap bang in-between Bristol and Birmingham catchment for transplant clinics. I have googled both but I wondered if anyone had any experience of either that they could share to help me decide? I am transplanted and stable but would be interested to know about drug regimes, support and how closely they keep an eye on you.
I'm sure it's partly down to luck of the draw in terms of which nephrologist you end up seeing and one person can have a very different experience to another at the same place but any information would be great, it feels like a big decision to make!

Thanks,
Newbie

I'm technically under Birmingham (living in Shropshire) although not on the transplant list. I'm sure others can answer. But as far as I know they are one of the 'top' transplant centres in the UK.
