Hi, does anyone know if having low blood pressure stops you from having kidney dialysis?

Hi pete20,
The usual problem with kidney failure is getting the blood pressure (BP) low enough, they aim for 120/80.

If large amounts of water are removed at dialysis patients can have trouble with low BP but the main problem is getting blood to the brain.
The normal action is to get the patient laid flat - so the brain gets some blood - and give the patient a drink.

My BP is usually lower than their target, 95+-/ 55 +-, and I have haemodialysis, OK the staff are concerned but they are slowly getting used to it.

I hope this sets your mind at rest.

Are adding salt or eating salty food/drinks?

Your BP looks OK at the moment.

I eat normal.

This is the blood pressure I take before my medicine.

Just try not to eat too salty.

And I drink normally also. Coffee and tea. Coffee only drink once a week

Btw I have not started dialysis yet
