Information to Prospective Live Donors
This is my first post. My son is also a member of this forum. Three years ago I had the fortune to be able to donate a kidney to my son. I am happy to answer truthfully any question that prospective donors may have about the workup, the operation, and how I have been both physically and mentally since the surgery. I cannot and will not answer any questions about my son as he can answer for himself. I hope that I can be of help to someone. Tibs47

Re: Information to Prospective Live Donors
I assume you're father and donor of our Tibbs? Good to hear from you. I followed his long and very bumpy transplant journey on here, and was obviously delighted at the eventual positive outcome.

I would guess Tibbs farther/donor also.
His transplant thread is the one I will always point potential recipients on here to as its a well documented journey from start to end, including all the little and not so little issues people face post TX.
Hope you are doing well Mr Tibbs, my donor is just over three years out and in good health.

My living donor and his family are doing all well.

Hi both,
You are right. I haven't actually read his posts believe it or not! I am 68 years old now so was 65 when the transplant. Generally I am in very good health. I go to the gym every other day. Walk over 2 miles almost every day. Play lawn bowls as often as I can especially in the summer. Had some issues in the work up prior to the transplant due to my age, so think that I can cover most issues that potential donors will face.
Wishing you all the best,
tibs47
