Can your egfr flucate mine started out at 55 then 42 and now 33 can it go back up or just down

Hi

Are you under a kidney specialist? Yes they do fluctuate but not generally by that much. For instance mine fluctuated for 35 years. What is the time frame for those numbers? if they go up all I ever experienced was 1% -3%.

Been seen kidney specialist now for about a year so over that time

Hi Davey,
Try this link http://www.edren.org/pages/edreninfo/bl ... se.php#GFR it may help. The thing to note is, eGFR is an estimate which is prone to errors.

If your kidney condition is incurable then the trend with eGFR will be downwards, that is not to say there may be temporary upward excursions due to errors or genuine improvement. The rate at which it falls depends on each individual, and is unpredictable.
