Hi - been to Mt Sinai in New York today. It went extremely well. The transplant director and surgeon feels very positive that I can still be transplanted. There will be a slightly different protocol to my immunosuppressants drugs that had worked before on patients like myself. Here's hoping I get a formal letter soon. Never give up!

That's such good news Sporti.

If you're ok with it, could you go into more detail? I'd be especially interested in how the hospital compares to the ones we have here.

6/1/13 - Discharged - Rejection episode over
7/1/13 - Getting on with life
24/9/13 - Left Radical Nephrectomy of Native Kidney due to cancerous tumour
14/10/13 - Back to work, getting on with life

YEAH go on the Mt Sinai transplant list next week. They have already contacted my donors. Never in a million years did I expect this. My nephrologist said to me at our last meeting 'noone will accept you with cancer its unheard of especially Mt Sinai' WELL he got that wrong. If it doesn't work out at least they tried to help. So relieved. :D

Hi - another update

I can't believe this is happening. Again I'm totally shocked. I've gone from total despair being told no transplant cos of non Hodgkin's lymphoma to being supported by Mt SInai Transplant Unit in NY City to now being told I have live donor transplant. Many tears have been shed today. On top of that they are fast tracking me but will be a while yet :D
