Re: Changing my tacrolimus, can they do this?

... life saving pill. I discussed this on another forum with other tx and non tx patients, some of them are from the US, who switched from Prograf to Adoport and other generic tacro. None of them have noticed any difference in their day to day lives or have anything unwelcome show up in their blood ...

Re: Changing my tacrolimus, can they do this?

... the absolute trough level of tacro) they should see anything change immediately. All new transplant patients on our unit are being started on Adoport so I do not think that there is any doubt as to the efficacy of the drug, they just need to see if dosage should change. I would say if you ...

Jane

interesting what you said about Sandoz being the manufacturer. Sounds like you trust them or know them by good reputation?
They make Adoport too. I don't know anything about them but I do take another generic they make. Have no problems with that one.

Re: Adoport - generic tacro

I am nervous too! But so far so good, generic Cellcept is working as it should. It is made by Sandoz, so I am not concerned! I take Prograf brand name. I do not want to take 2 generic important drugs, if I can help it. I am sure in UK you have stricter regulations than in US. This article for US pat...

Re: Adoport - generic tacro

Thumps, you are so right on all of those points. It helps to hear it from someone else though, kind of confirming my own thoughts and putting my mind at ease. I know that we will be very closely monitored for a while and I intend to have a very detailed conversation with the doctor at my next visit....

Re: Adoport - generic tacro

I know that fear well, so I sympathise. Having said that, "generic" doesn't necessarily mean "bad"; after all, most of the drugs we take (aspirin, pred, bp meds, statins, etc) are generic, and only affordable to many outside the UK because those patents have run out and other fir...

Just wondering if anybody has been switched from Prograf to Adoport (generic tacro)? I went to my renal clinic this morning and was told they are statring to switch all patients from Prograf to Adoport. I feel rather uneasy about this as there is not enough ...
